Privacy

VideoTools respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. We wrote it in plain language so you can read it without a lawyer.

What we collect

When you use VideoTools, we collect two types of information. First, files you upload for processing. Second, limited technical data such as your browser type, device type, IP address, and pages you visit. If you create an account, we store your email address and plan details. We do not collect more than we need to run the service.

How we handle your files

We transfer every upload over encrypted HTTPS. Our servers process your file to complete the task you requested, such as compressing a video or converting audio. After processing finishes, our system deletes the file from our servers automatically. We do not inspect your content, share it with third parties, or use it to train models. You keep full ownership of your media at all times.

How we use technical data

We use technical data to keep the platform running, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and understand which tools people use most. This helps us improve performance and prioritize new features. We do not sell this data. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. We do not share it with partners for marketing purposes.

Cookies

VideoTools uses cookies to remember your preferences, such as dark mode and language, and to keep you signed in if you have an account. We also use analytics cookies to measure page performance and tool usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may stop working if you do. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Account data

If you create an account, we store your email address, hashed password, plan type, and upload history metadata such as file size and tool used. We do not store the actual content of processed files after deletion. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted providers for hosting, payment processing, and analytics. These providers access only the data they need to perform their function. They do not use your data for their own marketing. Payment processors handle billing details directly; we never see or store your full card number.

Data retention

Processed files are deleted automatically after processing completes. Account data stays active while your account exists. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form for up to 12 months. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days for security and debugging.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or export it. You also have the right to object to certain processing and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, email support@videotools.online with the subject line "Privacy Request." We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, usually within 30 days.

Children's privacy

VideoTools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to reduce risk and respond quickly to any incident. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.

International transfers

Our servers and service providers may process data in countries outside your own. When we transfer data internationally, we apply appropriate safeguards to protect it, consistent with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows or as laws change. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
